DAY 1 (Sunday August, 6 2017)

Sawasdi kha Thailand !!!


I and my other friends from PBI and PAI UII departed from jogja on Saturday august, 5 2017 from Adi Sutjipto airport of Yogyakarta to Don Mueang airport of Thailand. Our trip is about one day including transit time in KL. We arrived at Don Mueang airport, Bangkok on sunday, august 6 2017 around 1.00 am. I need to wait my host to pick me up at 2.00 pm in the afternoon, while my other friends were going to their cities because we have different cities to stay in Thailand. Around 12.00 pm ms. Sherina the coordinator of SEA-TEACHER  from the host university and one of the student of education at ARU (I forgot the name hehe) are picked us up.

I stayed at Phranakon Si Ayuthaya Rajabhat University (ARU) in Ayuthaya, Thailand with one of my friend from UII, one is from UNSYIAH, two are from UNPAK, and four are from Philippine. We went together to Ayuthaya by Van car. The car is similar to a travel car in Indonesia. The trip from Don Mueang airport to Ayuthaya is about one hour. We lived at the international dormitory of ARU. This dormitory is located in front of the dormitory of Thai students in ARU. It is quite near with the Ayuthaya Rajabhat University.

The host university has prepared three rooms for us. Two rooms are for women and one room is for men. The dormitory rooms are very comfortable and also have complete facilities and quite luxurious. Two bunk beds, big cupboard, desk, bookcase, shower, washtafel, air conditioner, washing machine and water mechine. I lived with one of my friend from UNPAK Bogor.

We shared information one another about our campus, activities, etc. After cleaning up and tidying up the room we prepared to take a rest and hope will have a nice sleep. It was a great day and  a very tiring day! I hope tomorrow will be a beautiful day as well. See you tomorrow ลาก่อน...

Visiting University Market (again) In the morning I and Rinan my roommate in dorm went to the university market at ARU. In fact, the previous Saturday we went there since on this Saturday the host university did not have a plan for us then I and Rinan decided to go to this market for the second time. When arriving at the market we looked for food for breakfast. The only place that sells halal food in that place is in the campus canteen. And fortunately there is one halal food store that was open in the canteen. We eat yellow rice with other side dishes.  The brunch menu After that we walked around the market. The market is crowded in every weekend. Not only filled by students but also housewives and other community members. The price of the goods offered in this market were varied from cheap to expensive. DAY 23 (Monday August, 28th 2017)

History Subject In the morning I went to school as usual. Today is my H-1 to go to school before back to Indonesia. In the afternoon I have my lunch in library with ms. Faa and Mr. Nick. Today's lunch menu is chicken fried rice (again) hehe. After school Ms. Napa and Ms. Faa invited me to visit several tourist attractions in Ayutthaya. The first place we visited was The King Naresuan The Great Monument. In this place we can find a large statue of King Naresuan riding a horse. The statue was made to commemorate the services and courage of King Naresuan. The front of Monument Behind the monument In front of the monument we can find many cocks brought by the visitors of the place in order to honor the services of King Naresuan. DAY 13 (Friday August, 18th 2017)

Carnival at Wat Khian School I went to school at 7.15 am. After arriving at the school I was told to go to the palace because the carnival will start from the palace to the school. All students and teachers  have lined up based on the color of their groups. I joined the blue group with Ms. Napa.   The Blue team In the blue group they shown 3 themes in the carnival. The first theme is about Thai language, second is Thai food, and third is about family sufficiency. The three themes After the carnival there were some competitions such as running and cheer leaders. Each group performed their best to win the championship. I watched the competition with Aam.
